We love hearing from you, so here is your chance. Introduce yourself and tell us what makes you selfsufficient 'ish'. Go on don't be shy, we welcome one and all. You can also tell us how you heard about us if you like.

Newbie in Sunny St Albans, well it's sunny today anyway

Post: # 145838Post bluey1610 »

Hi, I'm new to all of this. I've only just realised about self sufficiency in the last year or so, (my excuse being that I grew up abroad in a big city) starting with herbs and now I grow a range of stuff on big south facing windowsills including peppers and berries. My hubby (a keen gardener) and I are in a rented flat so its hard to grow a lot of stuff but we do have a driveway we don't really make the most of. We've registered on landshare.net and hope to buy a house in the next 2 years. Any advice would be welcome. =o)

Hey kiwirach, yeah I love it here, my mum sorta dragged me along to a market here when I was 14 and I loved it and thought "Yep, this is for me". It took me a while but I now live here and love it here..truly unique and beautiful, I don't think I'll ever get bored. I just can't wait to buy a house so I can have my own back garden..

Thanks for all the warm welcomes guys =oD
