Wish me luck!
Ive got to go to the D-thing tomorrow, the thing that pokes your teeth.
I've been referred for general anaesthetic by my normal d-thing (back in August...), and i've got the 'assessment' appoinntment tomorrow.
I hate D-things with a passion.
Help!

Good luckFee!!!!!!!!
I had to go last week and I nearly had a panic attack before I went.
But it really was not bad!!! It's never as bad as you think it will be!!

You don't need luck, honey - although I send it anyway. Just take a deep breath and get it done

Just lie back and think of England....
I used to count the ceiling tiles. I have had 5 years worth of orthodontist work, 1 oral operation and 2 separate operations to remove my wisdom teeth.... all under local (sometimes failed) anesthetic...
Good luck, it will all be better in a while and you will be so glad you got things seen to

Oh I hate that place too! had several years of teeth extractions, braces, pain and humiliation! But my teeth are lovely now, except for a big chip in my front tooth that I refuse to have filled - it only falls out and prevents me eating apples and stuff.

Re: Wish me luck!
It was ok.
I'm going to have the general anaesthetic, and they're going to do a 'good core amount' of work and then we'll see the sedationist and see if we can work out a plan for the rest.
I have avoided the D-thing for many many years. I had my wisdom teeth taken out just over a year ago, but before and since then, unless my teeth hurt, i stayed away.
Not too worried about being 0ut out to have the work done, i'd rather they did that than keep trying to do it while i'm awake and the anaesthetic's not working (it never works on me...never ever.). She's also going to see if i can get to see a bloke at Guy's hospital who deals with allergies and intolerances. Apparently, he can then see if he can work out why it doesn't work and see if he can find something that does

Good luck honey when you do go in.
You need a d-person like mine, cute enough and flirty enough that you really don't how long you spend in the chair!
Cheers

Fee,
Guy's is great, I used to go there when I lived in London. (I react oddly to anesthetics too)
You're in good hands
