Garden Share scheme

Post: # 144167Post MuddyWitch »

There is a piece on the BBC News Channel about Garden Share projects. You do the gardening & give the home owner a share of your produce. (I'm not tech-literate enough to link to it. )

We did this on an informal basis a few years ago, before we had a big garden of our own. It makes perfect sense to me. There are a lot of elderly ppl with huge gardens that are far too much for them to cope with. The knowledge that some-one they know is popping 'round regularly is a bonus too.

I posted about this a few months ago, so i was realy chuffed to see it on BBC news, i am pleased that it is starting to cach on although there are not many takers for this in my neck of the woods, shame as alotments are few and far between and the waiting list is 500+ people.

You can register to lend or shair land on the River Cottage site.
