You ever too hard on yourself......?
Not sure where this thread is going (probably just need someone to agree with me!) but I think sometimes I give myself such a hard time....
so here I am feeling guilty because I've just spent the last couple of hours whilst my DD sleeps cruising the internet and pottering about semi-aimlessly (though in fact in that time I've put out some washing, made healthy flapjacks and yoghurt) and because my OH has gone away this morning for a week, we've had organic stuffed pasta for lunch and will probably have tofu sausages for tea (i.e. I've not made anything from scratch). And later I'll have to put the donkey and the bunnies to bed, haul some wood and water and keep an energetic toddler entertained and away from the dvd player for as long as possible. I'm not superwoman, but neither am I a lazy cow, so why do I feel like one?
Some one send me one of those reassuring ish hugs quick.

No, you're NOT a lazy cow - and anyway, you should rest right now - plenty of time to be supermum later on when you have the new little one!
We all have days when we procrastinate a touch too much - I know I do.... monDAY, tuesDAY, wednesDAY... etc etc...

Definitely too hard on yourself! Nothing says you have to be "doing" all day long. It does you good to have a bit of "me" time now and again. Enjoy yourself, you will be a more relaxed person for it!
Growing old is much better then the alternative!

Lordy woman - pamper away. If I had some and you were nearby, I'd give you some Green & Blacks chocs - flavour of your choosing.

Thank you ladies - sometime you just need some perspective. Think it's because OH has been working very hard recently that I felt so slack, but then I just remembered he's actually gone on holiday (ice climbing in chamonix
), so maybe I can have a little downtime too!

Re: You ever too hard on yourself......?
Clara, I think you might be getting to the nesting bit your pregnancy!
When I was pregnant I got to about 33-34 weeks and suddenly felt I had to get the house ready, even though it had been made ready, in nice easy stages throughout the pregnancy. Didn't feel like I should be sitting down (although I did of course) - there was just this niggle that I should be doing something.
Someone told me I was "nesting" and it made some sort of sense.
So don't worry about it, I guess it's hormonal.

Sounds to me like you've done a load of stuff already today! Some of us have been faffing around on the computer all day playing games (insted of chopping wood Julie Sherris

Nesting? That sounds horribly like it might involve cleaning
Last time I was so focussed on moving to my dream house that I must have channelled all those nesting feelings into that - and then I went into labour 8 hours before we were supposed to move, so everyone else had to sort my nest out for me. Hmmm no such excuse this time.

oooh, i'm queen procrastinator!!
I've had the urge for sometime to bake. Don't know what, but i want to bake something.
So....I spent about 6 hours last night surfing recipes...and i feel a few hours tonight coming up too!
I'm now stuck between making cupcakes or a sandwich style cake...or maybe some bread...sweet cinnamon or banana bread...

Chill - as my daughter would say! Your body is probably telling you that too - you sound very busy to me! - Nice to see another isher with a mountaineering OH! Mine disappears regularly to alps. Himalayas and the like. You just take it easy!

HUGGGGGSSS from across the channel!
You are absolutely too hard on yourself ;) because there ALWAYS will be another day.
Take it easy where possible and focus on things that NEED doing today....all the rest..........tomorrow.......... or the day after!
Be nice to yourself and your little one will also relax all by itself because mom does...........
