Fingers crossed for me !
Theres a chance--just a chance mind you--that I could be getting an allotment. It's not in the place I wanted but beggars can't be choosers !
There are 3 sets of allotments in my area. My favorite is just 2 minutes walk away from my house. The one I might be getting is 13 minutes of uphill walking away from my house. Which is still good !
When I went on the waiting list less than 2 months ago there was 8 people ahead of me.
So, please, keep everything you have more than one of crossed for me !!

Re: Fingers crossed for me !
Just spoke to the bloke in charge, I'm going to see the allotment tomorrow afternoon. The people before me on the waiting list have turned it down because it won't be fenced off until about April. Apparently it's about 5m x 15m. I haven't found out any other details yet. Will post when I find out more.
eeeeeekkkkkk I'm not excited, really I'm not...

All the best for tomorrow.
I don't understand why the previous ppl turned it down if it IS being fenced in April, but for your sake, I'm glad they did!

Good luck
My allotment is a 15 minute walk away when I'm not with LO. It was lovely at first, but then I got frustrated with it and fixed up my old bike. Now it takes me 5 minutes.

It goes from the edge of the path on the left to the hedge/fence at the right, and upto the side of the shed, which belongs to the polytunnel group on the left of the foto. Been left about 2 years. There's a water supply, community rotavator etc. It will be getting fenced off in april. £25 a year. I would really appreciate your honest opinions ! What do you think ? Apart from the obvious HUGE amount of work its going to be lol !

Re: Fingers crossed for me !
That looks exciting. I had a half-size plot which was well looked after when I took it over. Then I was offered the other half of it. That half was tenanted right up to me taking it over, yet from your picture, yours looks in far better condition.
Personally, I'd snap it up. OK, it may be a bit shady, with the polytunnel being there, but it's also sheltered from the wind.
Good luck. Have fun.

Re: Fingers crossed for me !

Remember that the Sun is quite low at the moment, so it should get plenty of light in the growing season. It'll benifit from both the hedge & poly by way of shelter as Rosendula said. Clear a bit, then cover it with summat to exclude light & you'll have it weed free in no time.
All the best,
MW
