Ish Moots

Post: # 138118Post sleepyowl »

Would people be interested in setting these up in there local areas, have a word with a local ameiable pub landlord who has a backroom that the would let you use of a weekday usually best Monday-Wednesday as that is the slow period for pubs. You meet, share ideas, experiences, skills etc & have a jolly good time knowing that you can now put a face to the name of people on the forum. This is not a new idea as I run a Pagan Moot in Birmingham & think that the same thing could work for Ishers too.

(Moot is an archaic term for a social gathering, but seems be getting used more & more involving specialist groups, before anyone asks)

I don't think we are close enough to anyone else - but it sounds like a fab idea for those who are. Incidentally we've been invited to visit friends in Bristol at half term - so if anyone fancies a Moot that could be fun!
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

I guess our Neeps meets could be classed as Moots - never thought of that. We don't meet (or moot) at a pub though - generally another Neepster's house.

Ishers that aren't already Neepsters are more than welcome to come along too.

It doesn't have to be a pub, it's just that they are usually the places that they occur, it was tiggy who made me think of it, if you live somewhere urbanised then aim for somewhre central if you are more rural then pick a place with the easiest/most frequent transportation sevices.
