The ish meet thread
Following on from another conversation in another thread http://www.selfsufficientish.com/forum/ ... 5&start=60
I decided to see if anyone was interested in a meet up at an appropriate venue such as CAT or maybe even the Eden Project
Nothing too organized, Just a chance to meet up, have some lunch and a couple of ales and a chat. Maybe a spot of camping
What do you think?

If I ever get the time CAT would be great, we've been meaning to go there for a couple of years new! Eden project would be lovely but it is a trek and a fortune to get there.

Re: The ish meet thread
I wonder if we could get a discount for Eden what with us being special an all
One thing I do love about the eden project is the fact that they have dog friendly car parks with under cover areas, water taps and regular patrols to keep an eye on your fur kids

I'd love to meet up some where/time with fellow ISHers. T'would HAVE to be dog-friendly for us if it was too far from home for a daytrip.
Having thought about it; maybe we could meet at Gardeners' World Live in NEC (Birmingham being fairly cental)? That way they've done all the organising & there's food, booze and, most importantly, PLANTS!!!!!
It's usually in May or June I think.
We could all wear a sprig of parsley or summat
CAT or Eden sound good too though.

It is not for from where we live but I have only been a couple of times. Once to go ice skating and once to see Bill BaileyNomada wrote:You've been before?(<- Green with envy)
It is always the same when you have nice places near by, you never find the time to visit them.
In Falmouth we have a fantastic maritime museum but I have only been once and that was only because it was free for locals for the first few months

Re: The ish meet thread
The CAT would be marvellous as it's just down the road from me ;) But I'd love to do the Eden project too, or GW live. Please could we make it outside of term time though? Otherwise I'll have no chance of making it, unless I bring my class along with me - it could be an educational trip I suppose

When I was young people called me a hippy. Now I'm a bit older I'm just called environmentally aware..... that's progress!

Gardeners World Live is on the 10th to the 14th June 2009.
Count me in. GWL would be my preference as it is the closest for me. Maybe we could get a feature on Gardener's World if we all go along? Some advertising for the book and all that? I also get a limited number of cheap tickets being an RHS member (first come first served).
Otherwise I can get to CAT or Eden and can offer a lift to anybody on the way.
Anytime after the end of March would suit me best.
Cheers

Last year we had a big meet up in London and in Edinburgh at the beginning of July, I'd be up for doing that again.... hoping it does piss it down all day again though

Love to meet up - but I don't get the abbreviations? CAT ? BIG?
I know - just stoopid!
