101 hot meals to prepare in less than five minutes
I enjoy home-made, ultra-quick, super-easy meals. MMmmmm. No microwave usage on this list, please!
Have you got favorites?
Here's a new one for me:
1) Instant potatoes, and am experimenting with things to put it them: cheese, veggies.

2. Quick pizza - toast one side of a slice of bread, turn it over and cover with tomato puree, sprinkle on garlic and dried herbs if you wish, cover with grated cheese and put it all back under the grill until the cheese bubbles.

Sweat off onions or leek in a little oil, add couscous, veggie bouillon and boiling water, wait for 3 minutes or so.
You could add frozen peas to the onions or leek, then add boiling water/bouillon, bring back to boil and add couscous.
Couscous and instant mash were my staples when I lived for a while without a usable kitchen... Instant mash, instant gravy (both available in organic, too!); sprinkle those ready fried onions over the top. Don't think that counts as vegetable, though...

5: Bruschetta: toast a slice of bread (granary is nice) fry some onion type stuff (leek, spring etc) add a bit of garlic and some small diced courgette. If you prefer scrape the toast with a raw clove of garlic, pile the cooked veg on top and bit of olive oil if wanted. Scrumplicious cannot beat it for a quick snack.

It kind of depends on your equipment but.......
6 Chop up onions and lots of other veg. Put into a pressure cooker, add stock and seasoning. A few steamy minutes later yummy veg soup!
7 Part cooked french bread filled with cheese, onion and ham - or anything else you fancy and bung it into the George - there you go - panini!
8 Eggy bread - dip a slice of bread into beaten egg. Coat both sides and fry - or bung it in the George. If you are feeling very exotic it works very well with a slice of fruit panetoni - especially if you make it the day before - very yummy!

9 tuna melt (mix tinned tuna, grated cheese and chopped radish (optional but we like it). Make sandwiches of this mixture, then fry on both sides)

10) Croque monsieur - only for special occasions.
11) Sausage and tomatoes - cut sausages up into bite-size pieces, brown in pan, add chopped tomatoes - fresh or tinned and season. Cook through and serve with crusty bread. Mm mm. Can add other veg if available but not necessary, but good sausages are.
12) Devilled mushrooms - fry chopped mushrooms in butter, season and add Worcester sauce and a dash of cream. Serve on toast sprinkled with fresh parsley. Excellent for kidneys as well but takes a bit longer than 5 minutes.

Re: 101 hot meals to prepare in less than five minutes
Today's lunch was pretty quick and certainly less than five minutes work if not necessarily quite that quick from starting to gather the ingredients to taking the first mouthful.
Sweetcorn - soften with a couple of minutes in boiling water with a little added salt. I heated the water in the kettle, which seems quicker (be interested to know if it is quicker) so a low gas flame could just keep it ticking over.
Garnish with thin slices of butter, some freshly ground sea salt and pepper, a few salad leaves and a dollop of home-made relish (that's what my green tomatoes became earlier this week).
It looked beautiful on the plate and tasted even better.

That's right - forgot about that: tinned sweetcorn, hot and with butter... When I didn't have a kitchen, I just heated it up in water from the kettle. Further cooking not absolutely necessary.
Actually, I became quite proficient in making nice meals with the help of a toaster, a kettle, and a toastie maker! You can fry eggs in the toastie maker, use it for pancakes, veggie burgers, I even heated up baked beans in it... Of course, everything comes out in a triangle!

Mix some cinnamon and brown sugar in the egg first for a really naughty quick snack.8 Eggy bread - dip a slice of bread into beaten egg. Coat both sides and fry - or bung it in the George.
