Eco wedding venue

Post: # 124153Post Helsbells »

I have found one!

http://www.sheepdrove.com/

Now the next issue is getting the guests from the church to the venue which is a 50 minute drive away with minimal environmental consequences.

Any ideas?

Double decker bus... if you can get one that is run on recycled chip fat, so much the better.

You can fit about 80 people on a double decker so even if it runs on regular diesel it is still transporting the most people in one vehicle.

The bus company in Glasgow have a wedding fleet (They are either painted white, or they are old style), there must be a local one for you.

Ooooh, like the venue.

Me and the OH have been planning to get married for years but never have any money or time to organise. Do you know how far in advance you have to book that place?

Well they are actually set up more for conferences so they only have 3 weddings booked for next year. So I would imagine that you dont have to book that far ahead.

Bagsie the 25th of July or the 15th of August!!

That's fine, I'm after May1st! :love3:

Can I be cheeky and ask how much they charge?

(I know I should probably email them myself, but everytime I've done that with other places they continually hassle me about booking!)

Serve loads of chips at the wedding - and tell them they'll only go home once they've eaten enough to run the bus on!

No? Oh well, sounded like a good idea at the time... :geek:

I,m organising my daughter's wedding for next July - not a specific eco friendly venue - BUT - because its local, we need no cars, I am making invitations from local hand made paper and the florist lives in the next street. Hope that's not a cop out!
Didn't catch when your wedding is - but I hope you have a ball!
Best Wishes. :king: :queen:

Its July!
And I cant wait!
I am hoping to hand make the invitations too, and I am getting frieds and family to help out with the wedding cake (being made by a friend of the family, we pay for ingredients only, and we get to choose organic!) The dress (being made by my sister) the floweres (being put together by a work collegue, using only local, seasonal flowers).

What a coincidence - we have a wee baker in town who does ' exceedingly good cakes'
seriously - its a one woman business, so is the florist who works from her garage.
Are you sending ' keep the date' notices? My duaghter is keen that we should - in case anyone goes on holiday - Scottish school hols begin at the very end of June.
I am making favours of home made tablet too - any other suggestions very welcome. :sunny:

I amnot sure about whether to send save the date cards. Maybe it will be emails (to save on paper) Or we might jujst send out the invites earlier than most.
I am thinking of giving packets of seeds as my wedding favors.
