Meet the Greenshifters

Four families' experiences of smallholding and crofting. And yes, we're the mad crofters mentioned.

good article, the term "Greenshifters" is new to me, but I think I like it.

when I read it and I saw "hobby farmers" I was going to go mad, then I relised they was talking about someone else! "The hardcore crofters" is about right  , nice work Stoney.

Excuse me for asking, but do you get paid for such things? (always wondered!)

Not sure about stoney, but in my experience NO you don't get paid. You might get a meal bought for you or a free copy of a magazine/newspaper and even then they often forget.

Good article Stoney!

I can also add that you dont get paid for such articles, good journalists used to bring tea bags, milk and cookies to a project I used to work on, others would just make the story up from home

great article and not at all condersending.

I will be on It pays to watch in this new series starting on Wednesday the 17th of September as a thrifty gardener. A long story but it was bloody hard work filming it. mind you I got £10 for petrol for collecting them from the station and a big sarnie from my favourite sarnie shop. If you do watch the show it is a spoof so it is supposed to be wacky.
