Ssssshhhh - don't tell anyone but I actually have someone to send a valentines to this year.

That's partly why I haven't been around much recently.

Anyway, don't tell him cos it'll spoil the surprise but I melted different chocolate (dark, milk and white - coloured with red food colouring) and poured them into a heart shaped cookie cutter. When they had set into a large heart shaped chocolate, I put it inside a hand made card. I'll let you know if he likes it.

As it's our first valentine together (in fact only our first month together) I will have to tell you later what we get up to (or maybe not  )

Cor Thomzo, that sounds beautiful!

Much better than my poxy biscuits, anyway. Note to self: You cannot make shortbread biscuits from that really cheap old margerine you found at the back of the fridge..... :pale:
I took my dog to play frisbee. She was useless. I think I need a flatter dog.

having had the misfortune to have been born on Valentine's day, I just celebrate the fact that my mother didn't get her way...........she wanted to call me Valentine (I had enough trouble with a baby face...........).

we're boring here too... sorry.

My 4 year old made a bright red heart shaped candle at nursery and came home with bright red hands.

I hate it anyway - so commercial... and in completely the wrong season for sending red roses anyway.

My daughter received 12 thistles with a dark red rose in the middle from her ex boyfriend... I think the thistles were to symbolise her Scottish history rather than her spikiness... but who knows :flower:

Well... As often is said... The best laid plans of mice and men...

I spent today at a funeral... John's Grandfather died last Thursday.

So I have spent much of today crying, standing in a freezing cold graveyard and hugging people... my eyes hurt now...

Hope everyone had a nicer day than me, whether you chose to celebrate valentines or not.

sorry to hear that AnnPan *hugs*

BF and I are boycotting Valentines... mainly because we only got together on Monday... so it seemed a bit soon to get into the whole "I love you forever and have brought you millions of presents for your tiny room" thing... faaar too scary!! We've decided that -if all goes well- we'll celebrate in 6 months time...!

Hope everyone had a nice day :love1: :love7: :love9: :love3: :love4: :love5: :love6:

We have never bothered with Valentines day as it always just seems to be another opportunity for commercialism and dipping your hand in your wallet for some overpriced rubbish. And generally we go for the been together long enough not to need some tat to shore up our relationship, etc etc.

However, this year, my OH presented me with a completely unexpected gift.....

Our daughter woke us up at 6.30 am on Valentines Day with the news that the dog had had a 'little' accident in the hall way, and my OH told me to stay in bed while he went and cleaned it up!

Who says romance is dead.
