It was calm all day here but now the winds have got up and its howling around the house. I am sure it isnt as bad here as in a lot of places but it still sounds pretty fierce! :flower:

Not much wind here yet - they said on the news it could get up to 100mph in NW Scotland! It's increased 10 mph every 8 hours (it started at 80 yesterday) thus far. We've battened down the hatches as far as possible - just hope the polytunnel and the windows survive.

I think the forecasters got it wrong again - at least in South Wales, today (Sunday) was supposed to be stormy, wet and windy, instead (so far) it's calm and sunny...

It all obviously ended up in the Dordogne by mistake! After a few days of bright blue skies and cold but sunny days we now have rain, wind, thunder, etc, etc.

Nope, you my friend are having a taste of the NEXT weather system that's due to hit Ireland tonight.
If you look at the satellite image at .. http://www.met.ie/sat/euro-v.asp you will see that yesterdays storm is well to the north of Scotland and the next one is in the Bay of Biscay heading north east.

we had some serious stormage last night, but it seems to have blown the cobwebs away as it's sunny and trying desperately to be warm here (but not suceeding!!)

and what's great is the fence is still erect!!! last year we had two panels blow down and break and the landlord wouldn't approve payment for two new panels so hubby fixed them with stufff he found lyin about the house and shed, and they're still holding!!
oh how I love my tea, tea in the afternoon. I can't do without it, and I think I'll have another cup very

It missed us entirely - we had wind and rain but no worse than usual. In fact it was quite mild - nowhere near the predicted 100mph.

I know it hit some places hard, apparently someone got killed in N. Ireland.

Sorry to hear that, honey - I expect our greenhouse in Ashton is in a similar condition. The polytunnel is just fine thanks.

Nice to meet you too, keep me updated on the tractor - I want a ride when it's done.
