I pondered what to cook that was English... I googled it and came across a suggested menu from s***sburys - it suggested tomato soup or stuff courgettes as starters.. sigh.. if you wanted to make either of those you would have to use imported veg.. so.. very English....
we had a cream tea (ok i know the tea bit .. how English is that really.. but then agian.. how English was st george....)
cream tea was fab....

Snakes Alive!
Dragon - Serpent; same thing.
Just thought I'd share these piccies with you. This is a Western Whip Snake (I named him Claude - he looks like a Claude) that I removed from a roof that builders are replacing at our house. He (or she - I can't tell, but presumably they can) came out at about a meter 10 cm; they can exceed two meters.
The builders where terrified and insisted that he be re-housed or they would down tools and bugger off towt-sweet.
Claude was "disamused" to be removed from his cosy little hideaway and actually managed to bite through my gloves, the little tinker. Happily Western Whips ain't toxic. Unlike Walnut Whips.
Claude is now living a happy and fulfilling life in the hay meadow next door.

Rodents, large insects and other reptiles I understand. I like snakes - they do no damage to my growing and plenty of damage to things that do. I have to say that our guests are...ambivalent to snakes, so I don't tend to draw attention to them in the garden.snapdragon wrote:awwww pretty serpentguess he's a rodent eating type?

I was on local TV tonight (Border Crack and Deek-around, sorry Lookaround) performing some Morris Dancing, wearing an outrageous 80's combo of straw hat perched on the back of my head and pink heart shaped sunglasses.
I'm sure it could be tracked down on tinternet if anyone is really that bothered. Wassail!
