Any law worded that way is purely to create ambiguity, it means that someone can be held, arrested, tried and convicted of thought crime... disturbing... at any point during the process the police can drop the charges and they don't even have to appologise for false arrest (or whatever) ... a high price for our democracy to pay for so called freedom.

On a slight meandering
In fear of upsetting anyone and starting a huge arguement......... This is more relevent to the people who live in Britain.

Does anyone remember this level of 'terrorism' fear when the IRA were at the hieght of their campaign?....... I don't

I am pretty sure Muslims in Britain are now getting treated worse than Catholics were.

Hey why don't we just get together in my living room for a cup of tea and a biscuit to protest about airports expanding and adding to global warming... :banghead:

message for BAA - ITS A PROTEST - you bunch of idiots, thats the whole bloody point AAAARRRGGGHHH.
That's what Stop Stanset Expansion do...

They don't like the idea of direct action, and if direct action is taken, then they will make a statement to say that they are not connected to it.

Stansted expansion is still going ahead...

Well remembered, AnnPan, and well said. You're absolutely right, and the chances of being injured then rather than now were, in my opinion, higher. Other agendas become a suspicion.

Have I missed anyone?

Even food could be of use to terrorists... After all, they don't live on air alone!

Hey, we are all terrorists!!!! :geek:

I too have issues with many things in our society, after reading the many comments here, may ask you for your alternatives, so as to give us some insight into a different form of Governance. In this way we can see whether this would be beneficial to society and to the world as a whole. As I agree with many of the views here I find difficulty in coming up with answer's to many of them and would like to hear of your veiws.

its worrying that when they say the 42 day holding would only be used against terrorism and only when necessary, only problem as members seem to realise there is a fine line as far as the govt are concerned as to the difference between terrorism and demonstrators, :pale: and what does only when needed mean :?
