I can dig it! In conversation with friends I have referred to my wife as Mrs Wombat. which is good for strange looks!

at senior school, sixth form and most of uni I was known as Ed. I had a bag by the company "EDIT" and my mate Pete started to call me Edit from that. after him loads of people took it on so I was know as Edit, Ed or Eddie.
I still have uni friends who call me Edit.

OH used to call me Old Trout.

And at college I was Patti for a while (as I formed the Anti Patti Smith League).

I've been Mandy Moon and then Mandyz Moon (the zed is silent) for years - to the point that many friends actually thought my last name was Moon.

What is she called?

We nicknamed ds1 Gilbert for a while, as a preg book I was reading said "Your proto human is now the size of a grape", then he became Arthur when it was "Your small inuterobod is now the size of half a banana" (half a - arthur geddit!!!). Arthur he remained.

Ds2 just got "the lump" or "the pest". Having consumed a large quantity of evil Haribo sweets thru pregnancy we called him Harry. (Only kidding, but that is the story any potential girlfriends will get, so we can check out their outraged green credentials. Or boyfriends.). I didn't have time to read preg books second time around.

You should see my avatar - it's a moorhen with Dame Edna speccies on! It came about because someone saw my photo and was (pleasantly) suprised because she'd always got an image of me as Dame Edna from my postings! That's worrying!!!
