Driving test stress!

Post: # 91367Post Mydreamlife »

I have got my driving test on Tuesday and REALLY want to pass! I have taken nearly 6 years to pluck up the courage to book it but finnaly I have and just want to start my new MOBILE life. It will amke it possible to get the chickens and make the alotment so much easier to manage! Also won't have to rely on nick for everything!

I am really nervous, and wondered if anyone had any good ideas? I don't have anything homeopathic in the house or anything conventional! (Other than wine-but I guess that's not wholey appropriate!)
Any suggestions?

Not really... Apart from the usual stay away from stress, get a good night's sleep blah blah blah... (I could never sleep before anything like that - and of course I was stressed!)

Rescue remedy might help. Or some herbal sleeping pills the night before. And I'll keep all my fingers crossed for you... And keep the wine for after!

A good nights sleep. will go a long way.
Even thou it will seem that the test will go on forever.. try and put it into perspective, it is only 50mins "ish" so that is only 50 mins to get things right. Make sure you don't turn right when he/she tells you to turn left.

some people say when you look in your rear veiw mirror, exaggerate your head movement so he can see you are checking all around.
what i did on my test was I actually talked out loud what I was doing. so if he says turn left say ." ok i'm looking all around, it's clear so i'm signaling. now i'm going to turn the corner as it's safe to do so. you might feel like a plonker, but it got me thru my test and when you pass you won't see the bloke again! oh yeah, and breath.. Good luck. :thumbright:

Run yourself a nice hot bath with nothing but candles for light, if you have any incence a couple of sticks in the corner and then sip a nice cup of tea and reeeeelllaaaaaxxxxx.

all the best for your test day and what will be will be at the end of the day its only a car test

good luck

Thankyou all!!!

I already talk ALL the time and the only way I stop talking about C**P is to talk about what I'm doing so I won't feel any more of a plonker than usual!!

Bath sounds nice and tea, well you can't go wrong with tea!!!!!

I don't mind not passing, it would just make life easier and save me the nearly £100 to take the test and book a car! Which believe me I don't have lying around!
Will let you know what happens, Claire :flower:

Well... I passed!!!
The chickens can now move in! In the end I just used Positivity as everywhere was closed for easter! I promised myself I would stay calm and every time I felt myself tensing up I just RELAXED!!!
Thankyou all for your advice though!
