Ok another new article for your expert perusal.
Needs a lot of cosmetic work. But the general article is there.

Very interesting article - lots of stuff that I didn't know about diet etc.
My 11 year old had severe eczema as a baby which has eased somewhat now but he gets asthma in the summer as a result of hayfever.
I'll try and control his diet this summer to see if that makes a difference.
Cheers!!

Keep us posted.
I am thinking of writing more of these natural cure pages as I do have quite a collection of sources now. Its good to know that is can help people out.
Mind you I am very wary of people using stuff that I write about instead of going to a Doctor, I guess I am trying to aim for the complementary medicine approach.

For years I thought I had asthma as I felt wheezy and bunged up much of the time. I recently found out that I am in fact allergic to dust mites and have a condition called postnasal drip (fairly self explanatory - won't go into disgusting detail).
I have found an ancient yoga technique excellent for relieving this and conditions like sinusitis, hayfever, etc. It is a kind of nasal douche called neti. If you are interested, see:

I just found this doing a Google search, but there is loads more info on the net. I use my neti pot when I have a cold too, and have recommended it to loads of my students with great success.

Very strange things, my boyfriend, who gre up in the wilds of whitlshire's astmas has near disapaered since moving to the big city. It's not the level of dust (I'm rubbish at dusting), we can only assume he's not in direct contact with whatever it was that set it off.
he gets much worse if he visits family members so we think he might be allergic to them!

I wonder if polen makes a difference? A kind of hayfeavery reaction? His family could be bringing it with them and the city will have less polen than the countryside I guess. Just a thought.

I haven't suffered from asthma but I used to get quite bad hayfever. I've hardly suffered in years especially since moving into Lewisham. Maybe I've grown out of it, maybe I've been miraculously healed, or maybe it was something growing in the relatively rural village environment where I grew up.
Personally, I suspect the oil seed rape. There was a lot of that where I used to live. Even now, I can pick up the smell from a great distance - it doesn't noticably set me off but I'm very aware of it and wonder if that indicates sensitivity.

I used to have asthma when I was a kid (pretty much unrecognised at the time) but as the years have gone on it seems to trouble me less and less. The only time I use a puffer nowadays is when I have a cold, just use it a couple of times to keep my lungs clear.
