Mother's Day

Post: # 86486Post mrsflibble »

well, soph having been ill for a couple of days I've not been able to get out properly so this year the mums have got framed photos curtesy of my wholesaler.
I've sent one of Jim and Soph on her birthday to his mum, from him () and a photo of myself to my mum from me. I don't actually have that many pics of me and soph from the last two years 'cos I hate being the other side of the camera!!!
please keep fingers crossed they get there in time; they're travelling from w.london (where the printer is) to wiltshire and essex.
oh how I love my tea, tea in the afternoon. I can't do without it, and I think I'll have another cup very

Well i would say that my better half is having a nice restful day, but i'll probably get lynched seeing as she will be in the hospital after the caesarean arrival our the twins tomorrow morning.

So i think it'll have to be me and the 2 boys running into her room shouting happy mothers day with arms full of fluffy toys and decent food!!

Good luck Mrs Hoomin_erra...

I am sure your 2 boys can make her some lovely pictures for the wall above her bed... or a few nice cards for her... (not the babies)

And some good food is an absolute MUST... I would have killed for some fresh food when I was in hospital (7 days after E was born) Chilli or curry would have been the best

I haven't had a mothers day, valentines or birthday since before I was pregnant - Just always seems to be sickness, funeral, builders, blah, blah... so I am putting my foot down on Sunday I DEMAND BREAKFAST IN BED.... and getting up to make it myself just doesn't cut it...

I have forbidden, as I do most years, dh to do anything for mday, as I don't really want a fuss. I have bought a card for my mum and one for my mum from the boys, and we will have to amke one for dh's mum as I am not buying one and it will be too late on Saturday etc etc. I know the nursery are making cards for mums so will get one (or two?) this year

no, cc, have them make a fuss! soo nice for them to feel they've made you feel special, even if it's only burnt toast and cold tea for breakfast!

Hoomin: the best thing my hubby brought me (that I can remember  ) was a ham and cheese sandwich; thick ham, grated double gloucester all on crusty white rolls.

I've sent my mum a card but I used to always send her flowers by Interflora - but these days with hubby not earning a massive salary any more and the ridiculous price of Interflora (talking £30 ish these days  ) I can't do that any more.

we dont do mothers day, as I regard it as either a religious thing (and I'm not) or commercial wossit. Having said that, I usually still do something as a pleasantness.. I made fudge and took it round last year.

this year my mum is childminding for me that day, so I told her her present will her grandson for the day!

My mum has asked for a specific CD instead of the usual flowers, which I'm happy to get as (bless her) she can only just work the CD player that she's had for about 10 years

I have made cards for my mum and MIL (who will only get a card at the behest of my OH)
