Aberdeen Visit

Post: # 85514Post Annpan »

So we are planning a trip to the Aberdeen area, end of March probably.

Is anyone willing and able to put up with us - Me, JohnM and Shortie (E, aged 17 months)

We are looking to travel around for 3 or 4 days and meet as many 'ishers as possible... after meeting Ina, I decided you all sounded like lovely people

If anyone can suggest places to visit or things to do while we are up there... One day will probably be in Aberdeen Town (with my big Sister and her kids) but we would prefer to spend alot of time around the Aberdeenshire Area...

Thanks
Ann Pan

Well, you know I have a room... (Bring plenty of warm jumpers  )

And what to do - that does depend so much on the weather! There's a very nice beach at St. Cyrus - ideal for beach walks (if the weather is right!). We had an interesting composting and beekeeping talk at Benholm Mill the other day - not far from that beach - and decided we had to go back there - not for more composting etc, but the cafe there is very nice and friendly (excellent home cooking and baking!), and the setting, with the old mill, stream and pond, very idyllic. If the weather is bad and you are in town, the Maritime Museum really is worth a visit; lots of interactive things to do with buttons to press for the wee one, too!

But I'm sure that a few other folks are better informed what to do with a kid in tow.

I'll have a chat with the Other Half tonight. We have a large spare bedroom upstairs (double air bed and we can put the cot back together), or we hang curtains across the door to the snug and people stay in there as it has a double sofa bed.

We're 40 minutes to an hour's drive out of Aberdeen, though. (Time depends on traffic.)

Ina and Baldowrie have stayed here, so can vouch for us not being total nutters...

Thanks Stoney,

I'll wait patiently for your OHs response, we don't want to put anyone out... don't worry about the cot, we'll bring a travel cot as we plan to stay in a few different places while we are up

Cheers Ina

We could borrow a double blow up bed and have got a spare single bed if you have enough days up here - sounds like you've got a fair few offers already though.

It would be great to meet you though and I know J would love to have a friend to play with too.

Now steady on there, I don't know if I could entirely agree with that one

To be fair I didn't stay in the house. No I had my caravan my 2 children along with 2 small boys who appeared with in their pjs and one of them took a 'shine' to the caravan toilet flush system   ...the dogs were relegated to the car.
