I hope I'll be able to make it for a short while at least, although I've got a meeting at work at 3pm! From the others going, do you reckon you'll be all done and dusted by 5pm or likely to carry on a bit longer. I'd have to start making moves away from Central London by about 6pm; getting to meet some of you for an hour or more would be worth it, whereas just grabbing five minutes probably wouldn't outweigh the travelling.
BTW, I'm bearded (and normally leather jacketed), so I probably won't need to bring a pot of herbs with me...

Be a pity if you couldn't make it, Wulf.
TBH, I suspect that the Court Café will have limited interest after the seventh cup of tea, but it is in the middle of the world's largest collection of cultural artefacts. It's also open after 5 pm, so seems a good place to meet for people who can't get there earlier. We can make a point of being there till after 5.

Made it... although not until about 5pm, by which point the gang had reconvened in the Museum Tavern. It was great to be able to link a few real people to the characters on this site!
Best wishes to Nev and his wife as they fly back home today - hopefully we'll see him back online by early next week!

Thanks Wulf,
We are here at the airport and fly out in an hour or two!
It was great to meet everyone and Linda and I had a terrific time that was all too short. Maybe next time we will have a bit longer.
Thanks again all, and see you on-line from Aus soon!

It was good to put real life faces to names, and to meet not only Nev and his wife, but a few others from here too.
I was a bit disappointed with the catering facilities in the British Museum, and people elected to move on a little before 5, so I hope no one turned up late expecting to find us.
Have to say, the BM is every bit as dull as I remember it as a twelve year old - very worthy, and all that, but once you've seen 98 Greek urns, you've seen 'em all. Next time you come here, Nev, try and book into a hotel near the Science Museum.

I'd like to point out that Aberdeen has a phantastic Maritime Museum - I mean, if you are looking for a good museum with a few hotels nearby, why not consider the North next time???Muddypause wrote: Next time you come here, Nev, try and book into a hotel near the Science Museum.

Glad you had a good time.

No photos I am afraid. Was a good day and I second what has been said so far. It made me want to grow my beard back.
Dave my Twin was also there, Nev's wife and my mate rowan who was very much behind the scences in setting up the site and this forum.

G'Day All!
Well, we're back and all thoroughly jetlagged, 22 hours on a plane is too long! It is nice to go away but also nice to be home.
Anyway we are OK and home was much as we left it except for a jungle instead of a backyard. I am working on that today!
It was wonderful to meet the creative minds behind the site, as well as Stew and Wulf. It makes me sad that I am so far away from you lot, but I suppose that is life.
Thanks Ina, Chickenlady and M3, yes next time we'll have a bit more time in the UK so maybe a trip north will be on the cards!
Now I have to catch up on all the posts since I have been away!
