We love hearing from you, so here is your chance. Introduce yourself and tell us what makes you selfsufficient 'ish'. Go on don't be shy, we welcome one and all. You can also tell us how you heard about us if you like.

Another one from The Netherlands

Post: # 69093Post degroenepionier »

I knew the site, but never saw the forum link! Thanks Berti for telling me that.
My name is Maria I am 38 years old and live with my 2 little girls (4,5 and 6) near The Hague, the Netherlands.

I try to be as selfsufficient as I can be. Just got about 13 litres of jam canned this week, made 6 litres of kombucha, lots of fruit butters and today I made apple vinegar. Keeps me off the streets

Still have a lot to learn but it is so much fun to be self sufficient. The only thing is that a lot of ppl think I am a bit weird, you can buy jam in the stores don't you :?

Nice to have found others who are into this kind of life!
Maria

Thank you all for your warm welcome!
Went to the market again today: got 14 kilo's of pears, 8 kilo's of apples, 3 kilo's of prunes and 8 boxes of mangoes for only 26 euro's.
Tomorrow we are going to pick elderberries and make all kind of jams and sirops.
I am going to dry the mangoes.

Oh, and cloggie, sounds fine by me. My daugthers (only 2 of them  ) like to wear clogs all the time. The neighbour kids even make fun of it :(
But they don't care and walk on them anyway.
