Vegansexuals
http://www.stuff.co.nz/4146636a11.html
You have to laugh. It is this sort of attitude and publicising it that gives veggies and vegans a bad name and prevents people taking them seriously.
Whilst it is natural to want a partner with some interests in common, trying to create a sort of movement akin to the gay movement out of it just seems ludicrous.
This is not a pop at vegans and veggies in general, please don't take it that way.

Re: Vegansexuals
I was unaware that veggies and vegans had a bad name.
But surely it is up to them who they choose to have sex with. What's your, err.., beef with that?
I have a personal principle never to have sex with a Tory. Seems perfectly reasonable to me (especially as it also seems that all Tories have a principle not to have sex with the likes of me!).

Muddypause anyone who doesn't eat meat in NZ is seen as a bit wacky! NZ being the farming nation that it is!
Probably just another news report thats taken one element of a story and twisted it to make them look ridiculous.
Mind you a vegansexual may just be wanting to avoid some NZ'ers with previous relationships with sheep in particular!

The Mothers of teens now know why some animals eat their young!

I never said veggies were bad, I said that this is the sort of thing gets them "bad name" which is completely different.
Any section of society can get a bad name for something, regardless of wether it is deserved or not.
I think that if the term Vegansexual is popularised it will not aid the vegan cause in the slightest.

So if you're a vegan in New zealand then one day it won't be illegal to have sex with sheep ...........................will they then have the debate of teaching it in schools?possum wrote:Now that I can understand :)Bonniegirl wrote: Mind you a vegansexual may just be wanting to avoid some NZ'ers with previous relationships with sheep in particular!![]()

my sister in law said at first that she was happy for her hubby (mr flib's brother) to eat meat, but then pressured him so much that he's now a vegan with her.
i don't mind about that, it's just getting my goat that they're trying to make their dog vegan too (vegan macrobiotic doggie chow from some place on the net) and wondering why her hair is falling out.
