well, the way the spam filter works is to identify certain rude words, and replace them with something innocuous - in my experience, the temptation is often too much for the moderators - one one forum of my acquaintance, if you type in "s-e-x-u-a-l, it replaces it with "Gordon Brown"............... (I have no idea why!)

because this site has adverts based on key words that come up in the forums. the censorship was put into place to stop it advertising a certain supermarket.Tomr wrote:Why is T e s c o censored?!Tomr wrote:I found this on Instructables.com. I am sorry but can some explain to me why SS has to slate one particular super market? What have the company done that is so bad compared to Asda, Sainsbury, Morrision, Lidl, Aldi etc?
I just get a little fed up with the constant and often unnecessary T***o bashing!
I don't actually shop there out of choice, but that is neither here nor there.

If I remember correctly there was a discussion about this a while back and the general consensus was that the other supermarkets had less of an expansionist policy,
Tomr, no I think it would be a good laugh, if you had a spare MP3 player why not hide it somewhere in the store so they gain a 'haunted' isle :)

ok, well I have not seen that discussion and will search for it and the concrete proof as according to my short google it would seem Safeway/Morrision is the largest!
But I do have to say that the all the supermarkets are only there because of the consumers demand for them and feel it is unecessary to slate any of them, or any other store, just because it may be trendy to do so.

I don't like them because they were the only store with an excellent pricing policy that enabled you to get stuff for free and now they're stopping it.

My blog - http://www.thecornflake.blogspot.com
having trawled through 4 pages
of slating of the firm from SS I still haven't found the discussion. The news article Andy posted does not mention the firm, and yet the thread is still slating them
I know they buy up large pieces of land in the hope of building, but so do other supermarket chains and building firms!

I didn’t mean to start an argument!
But if we are going to censor that name, can we have it swap for "The Shop that must not be named" or something like that

No idea, I'm one of the few that shops at Tescos. Only once in a blue moon, of course, given where I live!
I suggest you do a forum search for Tescos and have a read, because there have been many discussions about this particular supermarket and there seems to be a huge hatred of them amongst the majority of forum members.
