Success!
Success!
We have just gotten our latest water bill and our consumption is down from 75 litres per person per day to 60 litres per person per day. The savings in money terms are bugger all, but I am proud of our accomplishment never the less.

Thanks Guys!
I think the front loader and the new water tank (or more correctly making use of the water from it) are the big ticket items.....

Madanna, it takes ages to convert people. Always think, it took them however old they are to become as they are now - so it might take just as long to convert them! Sometimes something happens, and they have an eye-opening moment; but that doesn't happen to everybody...
I wish we had a water meter. I'm used to saving water from a very early age, simply because my mum was one of those people who went through two wars and learnt to save everything possible. And also, our water always was metered, so we saw the success and financial savings. But here? Nobody seems to care. And especially as we have our own water supply and plenty of it, folk would think I'm "Mad Ina" if I told them about all my water saving measures...

My meter has just been read and we are up by about 30m3 on the previous year (about €120).
I can only think it must be the seep hoses on at night time for specific fruit trees and vegetables, but I thought they didn't use too much water. It would be cheaper buying onions and plums from the shops. Hmmm.
