Big DIY Feeder with plans

Post: # 47657Post Camile »

Hi everyone,

Here is what I did on Saturday, a nice big feeder for the hens:

It was easy enough to make, and costed me nothing because I scavenged the wood from the kitchen maker next door.

But I have to admit that the design is no mine ... and will give them full credits.

It's from a french poultry website:
http://gallinette.net/construire_mangeoire_tremie.php

And here are the plans to make it:

Let me know if you need some detailed instructions, will translate them.

Well done Camile! I can't have anything like that because there are so many mice in my chicken shed, and so I have one that is hanging. Even so if it is not high enough the ruddy mice still get in it!

Well done. I was just thinking how some of that looks like a kitchen table!

But I'm a bit worried about the parts that look like chipboard. That won't stand up to much weather; be a pity if your good work succumbed to the rain. Can you keep it under shelter?

Hi Muddy,

It's the "white one" you talk about isn't it ?

in that case it's kind of sheltered by the overhanging roof .. but I could always make some sort of shelter around it indeed ...

thanks for the thoughts ..

Hi Camile, could I be a pain!!! would you be kind enough to translate for me? I would be really grateful.

I'm not very good at DIY yet, but I'm going to give this a go.. can't wait to see how it looks

Hello again .

sorry for the later reply ..

I was trying to translate it manually ... but found out about this:

http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/tr

you can actually translate a whole web page .. and the translation is not bad at all ..

so if you open babelfish, copy and paste this link http://gallinette.net/construire_mangeoire_tremie.php in the Translate web page line .

then select from French to English, and happy days !

Let me know if there is anything that needs clarification ..

Good luck.
Camile
