Dwarf Beans

Post: # 4411Post shiney »

OK, I have planted some dwarf beans. They are about 8inches high now and I am just about to put some beansticks in. Now..how tall do these guys grow? It doesn't say on the seed packet!

Are they dwarf by bean and dwarf by nature? Or are the plants tall as well?

G'Day Shiney,

They are dwarf by nature - the beans are full size

They will grow about 30 to 40cm tall. they can cope with not being staked (I dont stake 'em) but you are likely to lose a few beans to fungus if the plants fall over a bit and the beans hit the ground. It would be ok if you regularly harvest.

Thanks Nev, we are just having a little chuckle as we have just been out and got some 6ft poles!

We are going to cut them in half.

Thank you for your help, oh Sage of the Self Suffish!

Crikey, if you were erecting 6ft poles for your dwarfs I can't imagine what you would stick up for normal sized plants!
