Measuring your eco footprint

If you know of a way to help save our planet, even just a small part of it put it here. Also if you want to ask how to help, or even if you want to promote your environmental organisation. All goes here.

I have to admit to being amazed at getting so low a score, again with the housing I reackon; since 2 of us live in a tiny multi storey flat!

I also work close to my home and although I get the bus far more often than my consience likes it is a short journey a couple of times a week (doesn't sound so bad written like that eh?)

CATEGORY GLOBAL HECTARES
FOOD 1.1
MOBILITY 0
SHELTER 0.7
GOODS/SERVICES 0.4
TOTAL FOOTPRINT

So once we start producing some food for the allotment we should be well on the way eh!

FOOD 0.7
MOBILITY 0.3
SHELTER 0.6
GOODS/SERVICES 0.5
TOTAL FOOTPRINT 2.1
IN COMPARISON, THE AVERAGE ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT IN YOUR COUNTRY IS 5.3 GLOBAL HECTARES PER PERSON.
WORLDWIDE, THERE EXIST 1.8 BIOLOGICALLY PRODUCTIVE GLOBAL HECTARES PER PERSON.

IF EVERYONE LIVED LIKE YOU, WE WOULD NEED 1.2 PLANETS.

I was quite chuffed, but still more than our planet.....I'll try again in 6 months and try to get a bit more from my fire-ravaged allotment

kind thoughts
Deb
