An alternative breakfast

You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

We often go Japanese style, sticky rice, fish and miso soup. Yummy warming and really sets you up for the day.
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

Well I would still eat/try the lot for breakfast. I certainly think, after reading this thread, that my porridge or toast breakfasts are absolutely BOARING... :(

The thing is, Sologne, the only ones who take part in this thread, are the ones who have interesting breakfasts they want to show of. And I bet, not every day. I'm sure most of our breakfasts are cornflakes and milk :pukeright: or toast and marmelade :profileright: !

You are probably right, but the ideas are really good.
I suppose I have some left over wild boar stew in the fridge and I could try it for breakfast, but I am not sure that would be so great...

I have bog standard breakfast, most days porridge with dried cranberries, sunflower seeds and almonds, maybe 2 boiled eggs and soldiers as a treat and as an extra special treat black bacon from Fermanagh

Only one breakfast for me though, it's oatmeal pancakes with Nutella and a double esspresso, or nothing.

If you want loose a bit of bulk OJ I find self assembled muesli works well.

Never trusted that stuff,a friend of mine drowned in a bowl of muesli.

He was pulled in by a strong currant.

We've got goose eggs for breakfast tomorrow. Never had them before and I've no idea how to cook them, but we're going to need some BIG soldiers!

I have goose eggs, I boil for eight minutes for a soft boiled egg and they make really rich and creamy scrambled eggs, I put this photo on my facebook page just this evening, pretty impressive fried egg

Whatever happened to the traditional 'whore's breakfast'? ...two fags and a cup of coffee. Works for me! :coffee:

How very sexist of you Digger!...I'm a fella, not a woman! Not sure of your fancy ways up there in the North Wesht but down here in the bog we do sometimes substitute tea for coffee in the name of good health.

There was me thinking you may be a bit Dolly Parton (Best little whorehouse in Texas) but you turned out to be more Tim Curry (Rocky Horror Picture Show) the latter I find strangely attractive. Keep drinking the Barry's it's very good for the prostate apparently, which I wouldn't know about as I don't have one of those
