If you can get the cap of a biro through a hole, a mouse will fit through (where the skull can pass the rest of the body will follow).. chasing down potential access holes could be a never-ending task in some houses!

This is true, we live in an old stone farmhouse, with 2 foot thick walls, they can climb the stone walls (have seen mouse shite on the upstairs outside windowsills) and find ways in around the top of the building then travel through the rubble between the walls, hopefully when we have finished the restoration there will be a few less places for them to enter
Ah now, da little feckers have taken up residence in the big polytunnel under the crystal lemon cucumbers and they are having a nibble on the sweet potatoes I haven't got round to lifting yet!!!!!
