Corn and cucumbers are in close proximity. One corncumber formed. Rather unique.

Durgan, you've been pulling this one since 2007. I find it highly unlikely that a corn/cucumber cross is possible. Even if it was, the surface appearance of corn is due to separate seed bodies and would not transfer wholesale to a single cucumber skin (you did say on another forum that merely peeling the single-skinned cross removed the "seed" appearance and left you with, for all intents and purposes, a cucumber.

I think that either you're a dab hand with Photoshop or that you've grown the cucumber into a corn-shaped mould then taken away the mould until the skin greened up. 'Fess up, man

EDIT: In fact, having examined your photos more closely, I'm going for the mould. There are a couple of suspiciously straight lines going up the length of the body (where the mould-halves have joined) and an even more suspicious compression mark at the attachment end - no doubt where the mould ended.

Well now the thing is, if he tells porkies about this (he calls it "unique" for 2012) how do we know that pilot bread and all those juices & slurries are not a figment of his imagination.
Or even if there is a "Durgan" at all.

Having never, ever, thought to google Durgan, I can't believe how many forums he is posting this 'corncumber' on. I counted at least 14 then I lost the will to live.

Interestingly if you search Durgan's blog that he advertises on every post, there is absolutely no mention of "corncumber"
I wonder why that is ?

I was interested to see that other forums have started to ban Durgan, for continually posting links to his own web site.

I was interested in the range of responses to Durgan, too. Some people find him quite entertaining, others just can't tolerate him and he gets banned.

He's explained (in various places) that he uses an external, private site to host his pictures because it gives him control over the presentation of the photos (and no adverts etc.) at the same time as taking the strain off the forum server. This may not be the way other forum users/administrators like to do things, but it seems like an acceptable reason to me. He does have a blog in the same place, but it's not obviously linked from the picture hosting area and he maintains that it's a completely separate thing. I don't think he's just trying to drive traffic to his site.

As for the corncumber, I think it's a good joke (even if he has repeated it many times), especially when there are clever people around to explain how he did it

Ooh, that's a bit harsh! Trolls wind people up on purpose. I'm sure Durgan believes what he writes. His trouble is, he can't understand why everyone else doesn't agree with him!
