growing in a shed with plastic roof?

Hi

I'm a totally inexperienced gardener and have just given up an allotment because of health reasons. I thought I would be able to make a go of it but sadly not...

We have a shed that has a translucent corrugated plastic roof. It's quite big, roughly 12ft by 6ft

Will I be able to grow in there?

If all the walls are solid, I suspect not.
You would need to put half glazing on the sides which face the sun I suspect.

I have a similar arrangement, but much bigger, 12ft by 25ft. House on one side, retaining wall holding up hillside on the other, mostly solid walls at either end, similar plastic roof. I do grow things in there, but it's not that great. It's very good for providing a frost-free place over winter, but it doesn't get as much light as you'd expect.

If you put things in pots on tables, so they were closer to the light, they might be OK, but don't forget that you'll have to water them a lot.

Definitely, but it might need some modifications! I'd look into making a shelf on a pulley that you can lower to water and pull up into the sunlight during the day!
