Conventional photographic film.

Okay so what do you think about conventional photographic films and the chemicals used in order to process it? If it's bad for the environment then i'm afraid i'll have to hand back my ish badge... i'm a bit of a luddite with certain things and photographic film for me is excellent even if digital may well completely have a place of its own.

Disposed of properly the chemicals used in developing & printing can be washed down the drain. Not being funny, but they have to be safe enough for amateurs to slosh around, so the days of cyanide are long gone, not that cyanides are particularly hazardous in an environmental context.

Digital is fine, but I find stuff that works without electricity very appealing. Just on principle, really.

Me too. One of the appeals of this house is a bathroom that is damn near light tight and has a huge utility sink!

Don't know about in Canada Keith. Over here, at least the last time I looked, Jessops still sold film. And of course good old fleabay comes up trumps

There will be places you can do that in China surely.

Might see if i can have a look around here and bring them back next time I go home.
