Paraffin
I hadn't really thought of this too deeply because the last time I bought paraffin it was blue or pink and dispensed from machines in the street (ie a VERY long tiime ago...), but now I need to buy some for our greenhouse/polytunnel heater. Does anyone have any ideas on the best/cheapest source of paraffin please. Garages? DIY shops? I understand you can also run them on red diesel (not sure of that, something I read) but where would anyone source that if they are not farmers etc?
Growing old is much better then the alternative!

No idea where you'd buy parafin in the UK - sorry - but your instinct is right: do not use red diesel. The smoke and smell is quite horrendous.

Most Ironmongers and DIY shops stock it. You could also try Agricultural merchants and garden centres.
Has anyone seen the plot, I seem to have lost mine?
Re: Paraffin
also most garages which sell whole fuels like coal or logs normaly sell it as well

Re: Paraffin
I found it in the Countrywide store in Aberystwyth, in 4 litre bottles. I can't remember how much it was, but it didn't seem too bad. They might have had bigger containers, too, but I didn't need that much.
