Well, I say spare room, but it's more of a woodshed motif.

I'm an on again/off again insomniac and my darling girl has a propensity for snoring, sometime i go and 'sleep' on the couch. Most often i sleep in the same bed and generaly enjoy it, though i do love stretching out in a pre-warmed one.
This all said I think it is very important each partner has a space that is all their own to controll and use and abuse as they please.
I love my wall to ceiling books and booze man cave.

If snoring is very bad, maybe a trip to the Dr. to find out if there is a problem. Snoring goes along with breathing troubles, sleep apenea and more.

but I said that to hubby. He said NO WAY. We will never sleep apart. I thought, uh, ok. :)

I am not sure of his why on it but he was quite appalled at the question.

Hubby just had a sleep test done and we are waiting results and recommendations re: snoring.

Nothing wrong with separate rooms ...He snores , I'm an on/off insomniac,I sleep on a sofa bed downstairs suits both parties , 5 in our house ..spare room? xxx

Just another idea aswell, I hear Helene Bonham Carter and husband Tim Burton have separate houses. A row of three terraced houses all adjoining, his , hers and the kids....very sensible imo xxx

As far as Dutch ovening goes my OH sleeps with his arm over the duvet now so I can't do it, the gas just has to permeate. We both snore, but are heavy sleepers, the only time we don't sleep together is when either of us is ill & things come to the point where either I'm disturbing him or he is like sleeping with a jumper in a tumble drier. He always thinks something is wrong when this happens, even when it something that is neither of our faults. I don't like sleeping on the sofa it is uncomfortable so it happens on rare occasions only.

me and jim have been sleeping in separate rooms for a week now. since sophie had her tonsils out shes needed the comfort of someone with her at night, and it's easier to give her painkillers ever 4 hours if you just have to roll over, pop them in, give her a drink and turn the light off again.
while he was working days I slept with sophie (fri to wednesday) and he slept in her bed. since he's been off he's been taking over as I'm ill and not feeling great, and I needed a few nights of unbroken sleep so we swapped... but I am missing him so much!

I don't think its thats unusual.I know several couples who sleep separately,including OH and I.We do for most of the time sleep together but OH does snore very loudly and when I have had a couple of restless sleeps due to this,I will head for the spare room.I do miss however,OH reading me little stories from his paper,and if I do sleep in the spare room,we always start the day back in the same bed having a chat with a coffee.
