Sleeping in Separate Bedrooms

I'm rather with Boboff on this one. Part of being a couple is sharing a bed: I'd feel exiled if I were told I had to have "my own space." Not for me, I'm afraid. I'd rather put up with the snoring and strange thrashings about, thanks. (I, naturally, stay stock still and silent as the grave - it's her that does all the activity.)

Ah, now you see, I have very firm ideas about the dog's place in all of this, and that place is downstairs on her comfy basket by the stove, poised to defend the house against armies of buglers.

Also, and I feel arkward raising this, but curiousity has the better of me, in those ménages where Fido is permitted in the bedroom, what happens when people get all, erm syrupy and stuff: is the dog allowed to stay in situ or is it booted out, and, if the latter, how does the dog feel about this? Dogs are complex and emotional creatures, after all and having one barking and scratching at the bedroom door could be distracting to say the least.

Pelmetman I know what Dutch Oven treatment IS, I just didn't know it had a name. Thankfully my OH doesn't do it! He would be dead if he did.

My dog isn't aloud on carpet! I do not allow her to ever be at eye level with me either! Although to be fair if you shout at her or move suddenly a little bit of wee comes out! Then she Scooby Do's out the door dragging her bum and back legs and leaves a slug trail! She's half Springer and they are a bit nervy so I am told.

The other thought I had was if you seperated rooms, who would "get" the dog? And if he stayed with BF would you be more temped to sneak back in to give the dog a cuddle with his nice snoring, and tolellate the BF snoring as a result?

i cant sleep properly when my husbands not in the bed beside me :)

plus, snuggling up in the bed together at night is about the only 'us' time we get away from the kids to do gorwn up stuff :o

Having had to spend at least 3 nights in the last week or so sleeping away from home, I've really missed sleeping with my best beloved. There is something very comforting about the "going to sleep" ritual - I'm sure you have one too - saying good night, I love you, the kiss, the snuggle in, the hands/feet/bum/belly/shoulder/face all being in the right position to be comfy enough to drop off, that just doesn't work with a cuddly elephant on your Mums sofa! That said he usually comes to bed about 2 hours after me so I wake up and have to go for a wee......grrrrrr! But then he has to put up with me demanding that he remembers the name of an African custard or rewiring houses with noddles, as I (apparently) sleep!
As a child I grew used to regularly sharing a bed with Mum/Dad/Sister/Granny/Granda/Best Friend etc so I guess I was programmed to be a co-sleeper. When my ex and I first split up I did find sleeping alone very difficult. Yes, I like sleeping with someone else

I'm the opposite, I shy away from sleeping in the same room as anyone else and as for sharing a double bed with someone who is not my lover (for want of a better word!), forget it! I have slept on sofas rather than do that.

And yes I'll leave Daffy here to keep her memory on - hadn't thought about that. Thanks Boboff.
