very cheap wine recipes.

Recipe 1:
Ingredients for one gallon.
1lt-5,alive Tropical five fruit-juice blend.
1lt-grape juice,(red or white)
750g-sugar.
water.
1tsp-GP yeast compound.

METHOD: dissolve the sugar in 1lt of water and leave to cool,when cool add to your demijohn with the fruit juice,grape juice and yeast compound top up with water fit the airlock and fully ferment out. [:-)]

NOTE: this wine will be ready to drink in 6 months, but i like to mature for at least 12 months. [:-)]
Recipe 2:
To make one gallon of cherry wine.
ingredients
1-frozen bag of cherries.
1lt-red grape juice(or 500g of raisins)
1kg-sugar.
water
1tsp-GP WINE yeast compound. [:-)]

METHOD: Bring your cherries to a boil and simmer for 10 min,then strain and press all the juice from them
and dissolve the sugar in the hot juice and when cool add to your demijohn with the grape juice and yeast
and fully ferment out,then rack and leave to mature for at least 12 months. [:-)]
NOTE:if you use raisins you need to simmer for 30 min,then strain and press all the juice out.

Ribena wine used to be a big favourite of mine: incredibly cheap and really rather good. The old preservative they used to use (sodium benzoate I think) could give problems in starting fermentation, but this could be overcome by starting the yeast seperatly.

I have used ribena, if you boil the ribena for 20 min you should not have any problems starting the yeast fermenting. :iconbiggrin:
