Ideas for plastic coat hangers?

Post: # 241860Post Lost-in-the-Day »

Hello everyone,
As the title suggests I've got a couple of plastic coat hangers going spare which I'm going to use for crafty things. So far the only ideas I have for them is to make peg bags (or bags like peg bags but not actually used for holding pegs) and mobiles. I only have 5 or 6 spare so those two ideas will easily use them all up but I was wondering if anyone had any other ideas (wacky or otherwise) what they could be used for?

Thanks

Make covered hangers? You can cover the hanger with strips of fabric to pad them out and then cover with a knitted, crochet or fabric cover. I find these good for stopping clothes from sliding off the hanger and on to the wardrobe floor! Make nice pressies.

See if your friends or relations are short of hangers and donate? I've found that the idea of hanging up clothes has done the world of wonders in my family due to giving them spare hangers.

Send them my way. I'm convinced that coat hangers turn into red rubber bands. I'm always short of the first and keep finding the second.

Could put an old sock over one and use it as a duster to get rid of cobwebs,

Turn them into a lamp shade:http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=coat+h ... r:13,s:117

Recycle them http://www.300recycling.com/#/coat-hang ... 4542009910

Use them as a hook to be a pirate,

Thanks for the ideas guys!
I don't have enough hangers for a lampshade like that but I'll see if any friends would like a few jazzed up ones.
