Well today is Sunday an on principal I regard it as a day off so no plans. Except for F1. this afternoon.

Just as a BTW I am very touched by the kind wishes from the ish community yesterday and I am glad to be part of it.

Mornin all,

Bit overcast today but dry, today intend to finish the new run and coop and then put the birds in tomorrow night.

Letting the turf dry a little on the bog and all being well we will get the rest in by the end of the week

Morning all from Mayo, Overcast and looks like rain so what's different? Down to the bog soon to get some more winter fuel. seems a long job but we do it a bit at a time just an hour loading and then 1½ hours unloading and stacking in the store. Toodle pip

Morning,
No idea what the weathers like here, a window is seen as an unnecessary expense for the company so I am contained in a concrete box until my escape later this afternoon. When that happens I need to sort out the fish pond as the fountain has become clogged again, clean out and water my animals then go hunting for worms.

You be careful there, Lost-in-the-day. A cornered worm can turn savage.

Good morning all or as it used to be T.G.I.F. but that doesn't apply to me now. Well had a busy day yesterday actually finished the chicken run and coop. I have in all my years taken on a D.I.Y. project like this before. Wood and me don't usually get on but I've had a go. Perhaps when we get a dry day and I remember (well I am knocking on a bit) I will put some pictures on line (just to show off). I put my only successful hatching in with the girls I've got an idea its a cockerel and there was quite a kerfuffle for a while, while I watched, in case it got too serious. Well they seem to tolerate each other but it looks like the name for the Cockerel now is Billy No Mates because the others leave him alone.

They seemed reluctant to go into the new coop so remembering a tip I saw on a forum I put a torch in the coop and within 15 minutes they were going in. I popped out ½ an hour later and 3 hens and i cock were inside whilst 2 hens were huddled together in a corner of the run.I decided to leave them and removed the light.

This morning all was well except we have an egg eater! I will try the mustard egg trick first then if that doesn't work I will be looking for help.

Shopping day today so we will be out for the usual trip and lunch at the local pub. Looking forward to a good day.

Have a good day everyone. :nike:

Morning all Well it's raining again but never mind I'll take a day indoors. Had to get a puncture repaired on my sit on mower but with one thing and another I haven't got round to replacing the wheel. That's a job for tomorrow. I expect I will be doing a bit more for the book of information for the barn conversation, If the permission gets through. I have included some items such as golf, fishing, walks, beaches, shops, places of interest, cycle routes, restaurants, etc. any suggestions? I'm sure there are many things I have missed so all help will be gratefully received.

Good afternoon Dr.Syn. The sun is shining and it's a glorious day but I'm stuck indoors with hubby trying to bring our finances up to date  , very frightening. Anyway, ever thought about having a blog? I'm sure it'd make good reading :thumbright: .

Spider8 yes I have often started blogs but I have always wondered if it was worth the time an effort mind you I haven't since I retired and I would give me something to do while J. Kyle and his shouting toothless mates are on TV.
Well after the weekends deluge today's trip to the bog is out. We have now got well over ½ of it in now but we would have liked it in long before now. I have some pictures somewhere from last year and the stages in gathering our fuel for winter.Must find them.
The girls and the lad are now installed in their coop and are settling down. Still concerned over the eggs and possible eating of them but they are not leaving any shell. This morning I collected the first egg and there was the remains of a yoke on it no sign of shell anywhere.Any ideas anyone?
