Sponser me, or join me?

Post: # 22226Post Andy Hamilton »

I am thinking of doing a sponsered bike ridefrom Bristol in aid of th NSPCC. There are actually ones going on all over Britain if anyone wants to do one themselves.

Or perhaps you might want to join me on this one?

A challenging 38 mile ride which is suitable for the more serious rider! Following the route of the Fairland ride to Portbury, then along the Gordano valley to Clevedon and from there via West End, Brockley Combe and Lulsgate Bottom to Felton, Barrow Gurney and Long Ashton, through Ashton Court Estate and Brunel Way Picnic Park. Registration form and sponsorship form available from Lisa Clift, Appeals Manager for the NSPCC in Bristol.

I think I'll go for the easier option of sponsoring you... Provided you wear your SSish t-shirt, of course!

Is there online sponsoring Andy?

I sponsor a girl in the States each year who does this massive ride... and she flies the Aussie flag over there for us and wears Aussie tattoes all down her legs, so I can spot her in the pics. She came 14th last year in about 150 odd.

How much to fly the flag for your Aussie mates Andy?

http://www.justgiving.com/ seems to be very popular.... a lot of the girls on ivillage forums have been using this for the race for life sponsorship.

oh what a shame... there aren't any bike rides in Scotland  Don't think the NSPCC covers up here... think we've got SSPCC or something similar.

Mind you... 38 miles here would include LOTS of hills... perhaps I'll set up a sponsored exercise cycle ride... maybe even linked up to produce power lol

My pack arrived Monday morning (although I'm opting for the rather easier 24-mile ride to Portishead). Will say, "Hello!" if I spot a long-haired man in a SS T-shirt.

I'm looking forward to them closing down the Portway and making it a cycle-only zone for the morning. Yay!

Andy

I was supposed to be down on the 10th June but that got cancelled. Now going to be there 12-13 July instead...

It looks like we might be going to Welwyn Garden City before that to visit D's mum... but that's dependent on asking the neighbours to feed & water chicks/ducklings/chooks/gosling and to water the veggies...
