Basket weaving with willow

Post: # 2362Post sunpuppy »

Does anyone have idiotproof instructions or knowledge of a good website for basket weaving with willow?

I've got a willow tree in my garden which is sporting an abundance of young branches and figured that they would be ideal for making little woven baskets.

never made baskets myself and I the only place I have seen any info on basket making is in one of the books that eco-logic sell

My girlfriend just bought a woven basket for transporting the shopping in, by the looks of things if they are made well they will last a lifetime.

Thanks! I think the course may be out of my price range at £105.00 but I may go for the book after payday!

In the meantime, I might just have a go at making one anyway, using my limited supply of common-sense. After all, how hard can it be?! :bom:

Point taken; but it is a weekend course including full board, and when I use to frequent there, they were very amenable to offers.

Full board for a weekend for only £105 that is still pretty cheap without the course! I am tempted to go just for a weekend away. Well next time I have some cash anyway.

I agree, it isn't expensive at all in term of value, it's just that I'm on a very limited budget at the moment.... :bom:
