Put your foot down and keep it down. I got persuaded to give my ex husband money because how was he supposed to feed the kids, I was pretty much giving him all the child tax money. When I said I couldn't afford to keep doing it and cut it down, I just got a load of crap about how it costs so much extra in electric and gas when he has the girls there, it took me 2 years to just say no, even though his take home pay was 2000 and mine was about 800. That was guilt because I left him.
Good riddance to him. He's been a huge part of your life, and the next month or so are going to be tough. Stay strong and book yourself a weekend away somewhere or do something you always wanted to do that you couldn't with him.

Re: Need a hug
Hi all
Thank you for your supportive comments. Been in my pyjamas since Friday lunchtime but feel better now.
Life goes on so they say and I'm beginning to think this could be the best thing that could have happened to me. I feel like I've been a bit of an idiot in giving so much and getting so little in return...
At least I know know

Try not to regret too much,i'ts easy to fall for that trap.
You've learned, gained new perspectives and now you're at the wheel again.
And wine can help, although that's quite another trap...been there.
...It can be truly liberating at times, but it tends to cloud your judgement and stall any progress.
But everybody deserves a good 2-bottle binge now and then...
As suggested, take some quality ''You'' time.
Pic up old hobby's and interests,or explore new ones.
Set new goals, but don't try to force yourself.
Just my two cents,
Take care,

Re: Need a hug
No words of wisdom here I'm afraid, just hoping these virtual hugs find you and you keep feeling as strong as you sound.
