Just thought I'd share with you that I picked my first ever Harvest yesterday. Peas and Broad Beans. Delicious!
I'm still amazed I've managed to grow anything other than herbs.
I can see this could become and obsession. There are no disadvantages to trying to live a self-sufficient life, even the constant battle with snails and slugs is entertaining (in an odd way but I know you know what I mean).

Yay! Go you!I've also harvested both of those, even they're really still too small for harvesting. I ate them both in their pods!

its my first year in the allotment and so far we've had
Rhubarb lots of ( already established on the plot though so I can't take the credit for it)
Raddishes lots of ....bit sick of them now note to self to plant less next year
turnips....
lettuce...
blackcurrants again already established ( must find cordial receipe)
potatoes (these came from tubs at home which I had already started before I got the allotment)
A few broad beans...which were lovely kids asked for more ....
All in all I am very happy with what I have managed and hope to get lots more soon.....mangetout and starting to grow should be able to harvest next week I think....

Well done Misty ad everyone else too.
I was basking in the satisfaction yesterday when we had a bbq - the green salad (leuttice, onions and cucumbers), egg salad and potato salad with dill and broad beans was all from the garden.
Just need tomatoes now and some homemade goats cheese for a tomato salad. Mmmmmm

Well done Misty - and I can confirm 100% that it does become an obsession!
Last year was my first attempt - 4 types grown and I caught the bug.
This year it's close to 30, and I find myself thinking about beetroot and swiss chard at some very strange points in the day!
I've been extremely smug this week too - new potato's cooked in the Canarian 'papas arrugadas' style, and a stir fry last night made up of onion, garlic, chilli, coriander, pak choi and radish from the garden.
Last year was my first attempt - 4 types grown and I caught the bug.
