Sneezing Hen

Post: # 227832Post thesunflowergal »

One of my hens has been sneezing for a couple of weeks now. Other than this she looks totally well, and is eating and drinking well. I have tried garlic and ACV in the water, some poultry spice but no difference. This morning she seems a bit gaspy, ie her beak is open when she is breathing. They all have been wormed, and the other four girls are totally well.
Can anyone help please?
Thanks Nikki x

could be gape worm? when you say wormed - with a proper wormer like flubenvet or that garlic stuff?

are her eyes clear? if she starts to get gudgey eyes i would think it was mycoplasma. is she snotty at all? bubbly around the nostrils?

what about bedding etc? is it likely to be dusty?

we had one hen which often got rattly and wheezy. she came and went with it.. in the end we culled her....

I also owned chickens once and gape worm can be nasty. Hope they get better soon.
