How good are you at Phpbb?

Post: # 21877Post Andy Hamilton »

I am not too bad on the old computer and I can logically work out quite a lot considering I have no formal training.

I thought I could work out a phpbb based forum such as this. It seems that some things on it dumfound me. We really could do with someone whom I can trust to go through and sort out some of the glitches and instal a few mods, any takers? I, and I am sure all of the forum members, would be eternally grateful.

if all else fails, let me know what you need - I have worked with other php/sql database setups, and may be able to help

I know enough to ban a member and to change naughty words for alternative ones..........

Ina - dunno what it means really but a lot of forums are phpbb - the bb stands for bulletin board.

I might be able to help a little - I spend a fair amount of my professional life (webmaster) massaging gnarly PHP code into working order and I've used phpBB before. My main limitation is that I've yet to code an add-on that allows me more than 24 hours in a day so my time is sometimes a bit limited by all the other things I'm doing as well.

Funnily enough, I was reading about sleep earlier this morning. There is a theory that sleep is essential to keep the brain fresh and healthy and that the best way to go about it is to learn to take lots of short sleeps rather than seven or eight hours in one block.

Sounds neat... but I'm not sure that could be made to fit in with my day job! Anyway, glad you've got someone who can sort things out.
