What a Sh*te week!!

Post: # 216841Post Mrs H »

Sorry guys but I need to sound off about what an absolutly completely utterly shite week this has been!!
It started last Sunday when Valentina (r 2yr old girlie) had some sort of seizure, she came round quickly and by the time out of hours had called back she was fine. A quick trip to the docs Monday morning and they assure me she is fine but to call an ambulance should it happen again.
Monday afternoon and we are all colouring in at the kitchen table when it happens again only this time she collapses of the chair as well. Ambulance called and by the time they get here she is grand again but they take her in to get her checked. So of we pop and she is kept in over night for observation, thankfully she had no more although they are going to run some tests on her. They let us out on Tuesday evening.
Wednesday arrives and Valentina is great however Finley (r 4yr old) has a roaring temperature, stripping his pyjamas of him reveals chicken pox!!! He had a temperature of over 39 for the past 2 days, at last this morning it dropped. He is however covered in the grossest spots ever and I mean covered, they r in his ears, his mouth, on his willy literally everywere. I just went in to check on him and now they r on his beautiful face, it made me cry!! He is so poorly.
So that was my week, not the best I've ever had and now we r waiting for the girls to take it!!! Aaaaaaggggghhhhh!!!
Phew I feel much better for that!! Thanks guys!! Xxx

Hugs to you :hugish: I know when my two were wee they had a nasty do with chicken pox. I found that bathing them with a drop of lavender, bergamot and eucalyts oil in the bath realy calmed and soothed them and the spots were gone in no time. It also worked really well on my Dads shingles. Hope they feel better soon

Hi Sue. Massive hugs what a bad week for you guys :hugish: .

Poor old Valentina that horrible. A couple of months ago my middle girl (who is a ex 29 week premmie, i saw that your baby was early too)
who is just three started to fit everytime she banged her head. We took her to see her consultant, and he could not find anything wrong. The fits stopped as suddenly as they started. I hope that this is the case with Valentina.

When my girls had chicken pox I found that a warm bath with bicarb of soda really helped the itching. I know that my younger girl coped with the pox a lot better than her sister, and at least you will get it out the way in one go. Poor old Finley, I hope he is back to his old self very soon.

Keep smiling x

It never rains but it pours, as they say - so sorry to hear of your traumas. Hope you can find a bit of time to look after yourself as all this worry must be exhausting for you. Hope the little ones are better soon.

My husband broke out with shingles years ago and gave both our boys chickenpox as it's the same virus, they were covered in it too. calamine lotion calms the itching but if any appear in the eyes get to the drs for some ointment to stop infection.

The thing is Mrs H and others with young families is that it gets no better, sorry. Our son is 21 and living away from home and struggling with his bills so he isn't eating, the flat has holes in the walls, the windows don't fit properly and the boiler keeps packing up and he's paying £500 a month in rent.

Worse still he comes home for "some pampering and filling his belly...... and often says he is coming home to live and comuting to work...

Hope all is well with the bairns.

Has your son spoken to his land lord and suggestd that he contact the Environemntal Health Dept of his local council and discuss a Landlords Renovation Grant? Has he spoken to Env Health himself about the state of the flat? It really annoys me that landlords treat their tenats so badly! As for the boiler - if your son is on a low income has he seen this: http://www.warmfront.co.uk/

:hugish: :hugish: :hugish: What an awful time you're all having - I hope things pick up soon and they all recover fully. :hugish: :hugish:

At least you'll get it all over and done with in one go - small consolation at this point, I know. And more :hugish: :hugish: just for Valentina - have they found the problem yet - it could be her response to the high temps (called a febrile convulsion) you can get with chickenpox?

Well Valentina is home again and is a bit grotty with it. We are just so glad to have her home. They have no idea what's causing her seizures, its all a bit scarey really. She has a chest infection and cold now as well! She has also given her cold to Madison!!! Finley is looking loads better, not there yet but well on his way. We are exhausted and wishing everyone would get better soon!!!
