Post: # 209172Post old tree man »

Jane and i had a weekend away in the camper at cropton forest it rained solid for 2 days but we really enjoyed it, little walks in the rain did a bit of foraging found loads of blackberrys wild marjoram penny buns for breakfast, made some nettle tea and pine needle tea with honey, we read books and played scrabble, no telly no radio no phones absolute heaven, Jane have never seen REAL fly agaric so she was over the moon when we found a open copse full of them :thumbright: :flower:

Looks like you had fun. I adore campers - the sense of freedom must be amazing - OH won't entertain the idea  so that's that  (for now  )

We love Cropton Forest. We've been camping a couple of times at Spiers House camp site (I think that's what it was called) before my youngest was born. We used to take our kids 'hunting for eyes', so as everyone else was coming back to their tents because it was getting dark, we were just setting off into the forest with our torches. Very spooky, and much fun.

Not that I'm suggesting there was ANY connection between fly agaric and "over the moon .... ": :drunken:

Glad you enjoyed the weekend. We all need to reconnect to recharge the batteries.
