It reminds me of a Porsche-driving advocate (Scots equivalent of a barrister) who stopped in at our croft a few years ago because he wanted to buy it for a "weekender". He offered quite a bit more than the croft was worth, then upped it still further when I continued to say no. He eventually spluttered something to me along the lines of "...but wouldn't your wife want to live more comfortably than she does now!" Erm, no.
