The price of a life....
http://www.lep.co.uk/news/health/3_000_ ... e_1_761546
This is from our local paper... the young lady featured in the article is my little sister.
I am currently trying to raise awareness of our problem... in the hope that the PCT will capitulate and offer her the funding she needs.

I am so sorry this is happening to her. Are you able to petition them or anything like that?

It's such a shame that our government allows this type of postcode lottery to exist. I'll be thinking of you and your sister. I hope it goes well. Have an ish hug

God how incredibly frustrating for you and your family!!
Don't these people realise that their administrative bunkum has a direct impact on human life and suffering?!?!
Drives me mad, I can't imagine how it must be for you. I wish that there was something we could do...please let us know if there is anyone we can write to for you or a petition we can sign?
Sending as many good vibes as I can possibly send your way

That's just disgusting, everyone should be entitled to the treatment they need!
I wish I had the money to give you right now.

Re: The price of a life....
So some action needs to be taken then.....she needs to be putting herself forward on ever single public platform there is - if for nothing else but for as much publicity as possible. The PCT's absolutely detest negative publicity & instead of having the decisions made by 'erks in the office', she needs the decision to be made by someone higher up.
What I would start out by doing is....
1) Public forums - every area should now have meetings where members of the public can go along & moan about the 'services'. OK, it's usually jibes at the cops about youngsters hanging about, or demands for residents parking or alley gates - but have someone go along to complain about the PCT & it will go into the minutes - that's one mention which will be entered into the council & subsequently a step towards the folks that can help.
2) Residents associations - is there a local one? And is there a Federation of associations in Leyland? I know from experience that the members on these federations work very closely with the council, local MP's, police & more importantly, the PCT.......
3) Approach the local councillor & get them on side - they will know the PCT bigwigs & again a few private words before or after a meeting can sometimes be worth more than anything.
4) Approach the local MP - because that is what they are there for & again, they all know one another, so if your sister's name can get to as many of those folk as possible, it can only be for the better.
I wish you & your family all the luck in the world -

Sorry to hear, sending good vibes....
What Julie said is good, and to add; I worked at Blackpool Royal Victoria hospital one summer [few years ago now] and learnt quickly where the real power in hospitals lies. It isnt the Drs and consultant, it is the Medical Secretaries They can make and reschdule appointments, shift lists, bug Drs and colleagues. Find out who holds the real power in Leyland and suck up/bug the hell out of them. Just hope this helps.
Hugs

Can't add anything useful to all the good stuff that has been said but

Sing like nobody's listening, live like there's no tomorrow, dance like nobody's watching and love like you've never been hurt.

Re: The price of a life....
Thanks everyone - we've also got pieces in the telegraph online and the daily express
Today she is being interviewed by the local BBC and ITV news/reports programmes as well, and we're trying to get onto radio too....
Would like to 'shame' the PCT into paying the £3k, however we're also gearing up for having to raise the full £16k by ourselves... I've been appointed fund manager by my mother
