Oh Er... I've been nominated.

I had a letter posted through my front door this morning saying that my garden had been nominated to enter a local 'in bloom' competition'.

I dont know what to do now, I'm really chuffed that someone thinks my little front garden looks that good,but I'm not sure if i should enter or not. I suppose I'm nothing lost, but i'd probably be a little upset if I didnt win.

I know that whenever I'm out there I always get stopped by people who want to talk to me about how lovely my garden is, but there is so much left to 'finish' and I'm not sure if I would want photos being taken, it could attract bad things as well as good. Am I worrying too much about nothing

Oh go for it Keanie, it doesn't matter if you don't win, just the fact that someone has thought to nominate you means you're a winner! I think it is marvellous and you really deserve it as your front garden is gorgeous. I can't see pictures attracting too much of a problem (or maybe it's too long since I lived in London!), after all your garden is there for all and sundry to see when passing and you haven't had any problems yet, have you?

Aww thanks for the support. I'm probably just being negative so tell me to shut up and stop being so stupid. I should give people more credit as (touch wood) we have never had anything nicked, but my husband is always very wary about people round here. You often get people having a nose in other peoples gardens to see if there is anything worth taking.

Here is the garden today RobHed. It's a shame actually I have this mass of spring blooms but once they are gone there is a bit of a lull in colour until June until other things start flowering again.

Oooh well done KB, I would say that is a bit of an honor!

I would go for it. The type of person who steals an expensive planter is not the type of person who pays much attention to the local 'in bloom' nominees - in my experience gardeners are a fairly honest bunch.

Ok I'll shut up
I'll enter my garden and get frantically pulling up weeds and having a sort out, so hopefully in a month ish or whenever it will be judged it will look even better than it does.
