Hi!

I've not written on a forum before so hope I am writing this in the right place??

I moved to my new place last June and having spent a lot of time DIYing it is now time to work on slightly taming my garden ... I have two small patches that I want to grow veggies on ... both contained couch grass - One has been cleared as best I can and the other is still being looked at with a 'paddington bear hard stare' just in case that will save me a lot of digging!

I have looooooads of herbs which I brought with me in pots and hope to transfer some of them in to my borders which are currently cultivating wonderful weeds and an unidentified triffid :flower:

The beautiful apple tree at the bottom of my garden fell over in the wet and windy weather but seems to be very happy in its new position and blossoming beautifully :thumbright:

If you have a jungle of weeds why not see if any of them are edible. At least while you're clearing them you can get a few freebies along the way :lol:

Like you, we've not long moved and are in the process of trying to convert several years of neglect into a usable veggie patch. :scratch: Our's has a lot of nettles, so as already suggested we've tried to make use of them with some good results :icon_smile: and some not so good :pukeright:

My weeds are mostly couch grass and ivy (are they weeds) - are there any good uses for them?

Oh and I will be cutting down a holly tree (as I have several) unless anyone would like it?

If you steep couch grass in water until it`s soggy and stinky it makes a good feed when strained.
